We now know that water is a finite and precious resource, and we must prioritize efficiency and #sustainability strategies that reduce #environmental impact, such as the reduction of carbon emissions, and #WaterPositive initiatives Today, water is even commercialized through the Water Footprint across all markets, and we have come a long way in our understanding of its importance. Water has been a key factor in human development and evolution, from the establishment of early civilizations on riverbanks to the commercialization of natural mineral waters in the mid-16th century. We have the necessary information and scientific expertise to make this a reality. Desalination and water reuse are innovative solutions that can transform unusable water into a valuable resource. It's time to focus on the quality of water, rather than where it comes from. This is preventing us from fully embracing scientific and technological advancements that could help us ensure that everyone has access to clean water. However, obscurantism and denialism continue to hinder our progress as a society, driven by economic interests or a lack of vision from our leaders. Water is a vital resource that we must manage carefully in the 21st century.
